Do I need to install both apps?

No. Install Anonym Anonymizer for a full-page editor, Anonym Files for right-click/sidebar anonymization in Nextcloud Files, or both — they share your API token configuration automatically when both are present.

Are these apps in the Nextcloud App Store?

Not yet. Install them manually from the GitHub releases page using the standard Nextcloud file-replace and occ upgrade steps, the same way any non-App-Store Nextcloud app is installed and updated.

Will the apps update themselves?

No. They show a manual-upgrade notice when a newer version is available, with a link to the changelog. Your Nextcloud admin decides when to install it, using the same manual steps as the initial install.

Is the API token these apps use safe to store on a shared Nextcloud server?

It is an integration-scoped token, which is deliberately more limited than your full-account API token: it can analyze and anonymize content, but it cannot retrieve decrypted key material from your account, unlike a full-account token.

Which Nextcloud versions are supported?

Nextcloud 28 through 31, with PHP 8.1 or higher.
